The Pelican Island Audubon Society in partnership with Keep Indian River Beautiful organized the 2005 Florida Coastal Cleanup to clean the beaches of Indian River County on September 17, 2005. A large enthusiastic turnout of high school students were lined up by 8:00am to check in and start cleaning Vero's South Beach.
Jon Moore, pictured at right helping to get the high school students checked in, along with Sue Richardson and Lynne Larkin kept things running smoothly at the South Beach cleanup.
Elsbeth Eibs, left, and Marge Konopaska ran the cleanup effort at Vero's Jaycee Beach.
Patrick Morgan carries a load of garbage up from one of the two ATVs generously supplied by the Indian River Mosquito Control District to help clean Wabasso Beach.
