COASTAL CLEANUP 2006

Partnering once again with The Ocean Conservancy, the Pelican Island Aududon Society took part in the International Coastal Cleanup held on Saturday, September 16, 2006, to clean the beaches of Indian River County. At left, volunteers at Wabasso Beach get an early start.

Volunteers at Wabasso make their way down the beach in search of garbage. Over 500 people took part in the effort this year.
Over a ton of garbage was removed from County beaches and the Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge.
