January 23 - Wednesday - Bee Gum Point - Guide: Rody Johnson- Indian River Land Trust - Meet at 9:00AM at Bee Gum Point. This 111-acre property is one of the last unprotected wetlands on the barrier island and contains a mile of Indian River Lagoon shoreline. It is situated along the Atlantic Flyway, a major corridor for millions of migrating birds. DIRECTIONS: At the blinking light on A1A in Indian River Shores, turn west onto Fred Tuerk Drive and proceed to the end of the road. Entrance is on the left by the electrical substation.

January 27 - Sunday - Orlando Wetlands Park - 25155 Wheeler Road, Christmas - Guides: Steve Goff and Bill Loftus - Meet at the Chevron station on 512 near I-95 at 6:00AM - Click to sign up online.

January 30 - Wednesday - St. Sebastian River Preserve State Park - meet at 5:30AM at the park visitor center located at the Brevard/Indian River county line off of Babcock, just north of the C-54 canal. Limited to 8 people as we will ride in a park pickup truck to the colony site. Must be physically able to climb in and out of a pickup truck bed. Bring a spotting scope if you have one as it will be helpful in seeing birds. Other possible birds will include Brown-headed Nuthatch and Bachman's Sparrow, among others. Bring warm clothing in case of cool morning weather. Click to sign up online.

The Pelican Nest Gift Shop is now open at Audubon House on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10AM to 3PM and Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9AM to 1PM.
