Pelican Island Audubon Society visited Treasure Hammock Ranch for a field trip led by Sean Sexton and Pelican Island Audubon vice-President Jens Tripson. At right, the first rays of the rising sun illuminate the woods near the barn. Unfortunately, cloudy skies and cool weather persisted throughout most of the trip.

The group gathers near the barn to hear an introduction to Treasure Hammock by ranch manager Sean Sexton and Jens Tripson.
The group stops to view the sale bulls---and vice versa.
Goldie, a ranch horse, enjoys some attention.
The cloudy sky is refracted in one of the many droplets of water condensed from dew hanging down from a metal pasture gate. The crop of mustard greens and turnips is still holding on despite a harsh winter.
The group stops to watch a herd of cattle be moved from one pasture to another.
Sean Sexton describes the importance of natural pasture wetlands like the one visible in the distance. One of many Robins moving between the woodlands and a pasture wetland.
The group easily hiked a mile out into the pastures and back.
Farther out in the pastures, the group stops to watch another herd of cattle be moved to a different pasture.
